It's All About Lappy

The American Diabetes Association and the Denver Father’s Day Council will host the 2008 Father of the Year Awards on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Denver. This year’s honorees include Ken Ellgen, XCel Energy, Executive Director (Retired), Mark Hellerstein, Chairman of the Board/Director, St. Mary Land & Exploration Company, Ian Laperriere, Alternate Captain, Colorado Avalanche, and Mike Shaw, Founder and Owner Mike Shaw Automotive, four outstanding fathers in the Colorado community. The black tie optional event begins at 6 p.m. with a reception, and dinner will follow at 7 p.m.

“We are proud to honor these four exceptional fathers who have demonstrated the ability to balance their personal lives, while achieving a high-level of success in their careers.” said Perri Dombroski, Associate Director at the American Diabetes Association. “All of these fathers are very deserving of this award”.

All proceeds of the Father of the Year awards dinner support the American Diabetes Association and its mission to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. At this dinner there will be the special opportunity to donate funds for scholarships that support children who are in need of financial assistance to attend Camp Colorado. Camp Colorado is run by the American Diabetes Association and provides a safe and fun camp experience for 250 children with diabetes annually.
