By Adrian Dater
Denver Post Staff Writer
March 30, 2007 - GLENDALE, ARIZ.. - It took until the end of March, in his second season, for Ian Laperriere to miss his first game with the Avalanche.
The veteran right wing was forced to sit for the first time as a member of the Avs on Thursday night against Phoenix with a groin injury. That broke an overall consecutive game streak of 162 for Laperriere, who had eight goals, 28 points and a team-leading 124 penalty minutes in 76 games.
Laperriere's place in the lineup was taken by Scott Parker.

FIRST FOR LAPERRIERE
Avalanche forward Ian Laperriere missed his first game this season Thursday because of a groin injury. He didn't miss any games last season when he recorded career highs for goals (21) and points (45). Laperriere had played in 162 consecutive games after a concussion caused him to sit out 19 games in 2003-04, when he played for the Los Angeles Kings.
Laperriere, 33, has eight goals - six in the past 23 games - and 20 assists with 124 penalty minutes and a plus-5 plus/minus rating.
