May 31, 2007 - Popular forward Ian Laperriere will be back with the Avalanche next season, his agent said Wednesday.
"The team had an option that was based on games played, so it's automatically vested and he's got another year on his contract," Pat Brisson said. "He had to play like 70 percent of the games."
Laperriere, who has missed one Avalanche game in the past two years, signed as a free agent in July 2004 after spending parts of nine seasons with the Los Angeles Kings.
Laperriere will make a little more than $1 million and gives the Avalanche 15 players under contract, about $30.3 million against the salary cap. The cap is expected to be about $48 million in 2007-08.
