Ho-ho-who?

Colorado Avalanche Right Wing Ian Laperriere

Best Christmas memory: " During the hockey lockout, I was able to have both my family and my wife's family together for Christmas back home in Montreal. It was the first time in about 15 years that we were able to all be together."
Spending Christmas this year: "Here at home in Denver"
Favorite holiday movie: "A Christmas Story"

Laperriere's Goal: To Score More Of Them

Avalanche 7 - Oilers 6

(Ian Laperriere - Fight vs. Brad Winchester)

"Laperriere went again for the Avs. Lappy now leads the league with 10 fighting majors, and the Avalanche now have a total of 10 fighting majors. I'm sure the willing workhorse won't complain, but he probably wouldn't mind a little help."

FIGHT NIGHT RETURNS

Avalanche winger Ian Laperriere watched Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony get a 15-game suspension from the NBA for punching New York Knicks' Mardy Collins. He just whistled softly.

"If they suspended me 15 games for all the punches I've thrown, I'd be out of the league," said Laperriere, who had a spirited scrap with Oilers winger Brad Winchester in the second period.

Anthony ran to centre court after the punch last Saturday. Would that happen in the NHL?

"Not with anybody who's six-foot-seven. Maybe if a guy was five-foot-seven in hockey he might run away," said Laperriere.

Keeping Up (Player) Appearances

--from the West Fargo Pioneer
"...A few hours later and a few miles away, Ian Laperriere skates over to a boy who's curled up on the ice, away from the other kids. The Avalanche right winger offers a few words of encouragement, then helps the youngster up and skates alongside him, grinning all the way..."

(Ian Laperriere - 1 Assist, Fight vs. Sean Avery)

"I was here for nine years. It's always fun to come back and see familiar faces in the stands. It was special for me and it always will be. It feels like home and people treat me well," Laperriere admitted.  --from TheFourthPeriod.com

Finally!!  It's About Time...

(CBS Sportsline)

"...when Ian Laperriere fought Sean Avery early in the game, most of the house cheered for the former King..."

" When Avery got run from the match for not tying his jersey down, the fans that remembered Laperriere's character during the time he toiled in Los Angeles (the polar opposite of Avery's behavior), showed their appreciation..."

We sat next to the Avs tunnel...ran into a few people in their Lappy shirts.

I gave one to Mike Haynes during the first intermission.

Besides the fight, another highlight of the game was seeing someone who shall remain nameless singing "Sexy Back" along with Justin Timberlake as he skated over to the bench...very funny.
