With that goal, Ian surpasses his previous personal best for goals, 13, which he set as a rookie with St. Louis in the lockout-shortened 1994-95 season. He has also established a single-season career high with 31 points. His previous high was 27 points also set in 1994-95.
Ian Laperriere's goal with 3:36 left in the third period capped Colorado's comeback on January 11, 2006. Brad Richardson passed to Laperriere in front of the net and he beat Cristobal Huet through the legs to break a 1-1 tie.
Laperriere's 14th goal established a single-season career high. He had an empty-netter in the closing seconds that was wiped off because an official blew his whistle, thinking the puck had gone out of play.
