Tough Enough (from the Colorado Springs Gazette, 2/27/07) "Before Colorado Avalanche games, Ian Laperriere follows a simple routine. He stretches near center ice. He goes through passing drills with his teammates. He takes several slap shots and a couple of wrist shots. By the time Laperriere retreats to the locker room, he has sized up the competition. Highlights from the weekend: My dad finally got to meet Lappy, which really meant a lot to me...
Lappy introduced my mom to Joe Sakic because she's afraid of him for some reason...
My husband won Kings season tickets at the Kings Charity 5k race, and then got booed by the entire crowd because he was wearing his Avs hat...
We got to spend time with great friends...
And Mom and I ended up on Altitude during the Kings game...

From the Denver Post, 2/25/07: During a first-period media timeout, the Kings - as part of a series of video tributes highlighting the franchise's 40th anniversary - showed clips of Avs winger Ian Laperriere playing for Los Angeles. Cruisin' The Lanes Bowling Event Proceeds benefited Hinote's Heroes, which was started by former Avalanche forward Dan Hinote to help families of children with cancer at Children's Hospital; Teammates for Kids, Garth Brooks' foundation for children's charities; and Kroenke Sports Charities, which provides literacy, educational, health and fitness programs for children throughout Colorado.
